http://www.videotutorialzone.com – (Part 3 of 3) The Joomla Content management system makes running a dynamic website easier than ever, but it is really meant to be run on a Linux server. For those thast want to run it on a Windows server, getting it set up is quite complicated, but not impossible.

This is because getting Joomla, PHP and MySQL all to play nicely in IIS is quite a chore. This is the third in a series of 3 tutorials that will get you running Joomla on Windows with Internet Information Server (IIS) in under an hour.

I meant to put more in my comments – I struggled for hours – reinstalling and never got it to work – MySQL Support was always unavailable as well as the Session Path – watched video and followed along and everything went great-I kept getting a blank Install2.php page but this solved it. Thanks again for making this and sharing it.

  9. I may be able to help if I know your exact setup. The setup in the video was a fresh installation of Windows 2003, SP2

    I fixed th display errors

but mysql support is still pending :(

  11. KaRiToR says:

ive got the same problem & i went through every step :(

    MySQL support Unavailable’
    Display Errors: Off

I dont know what to do =(

Very good tutorial by the way!

  12. Go through it step by step again. Make sure you give the IUSR___ user read and write access on the session save path in Explorer, and double-check the other paths as well. That should really be all you need to do.

Great series of tutorials! Well done! I am still having problems though running Joomla. In the ‘Required Settings Check:’ when Joomla starts the installation I am seeing ‘- MySQL support Unavailable’ and ‘Session save path Unwritable’. I have checked MySQL and the service is running and the port isn’t been blocked by the firewall. I also have the Sessions save path correct. Any suggestions?
